ZZ Plant
ZZ Plant
Since taking my talents globally, from the gorgeous coastlines of Eastern Africa, I’ve become a bit of a household treat. Not only do I get mistaken for a sculpture but I’m virtually indestructible! However, mistake me for an artificial plant and I’ll pack my bags... just kidding (or am I?). Long story short, I’m a very low maintenance indoor plant so please leave me alone and I’ll look my best.

Key attributes
Popular indoor plant with glossy green leaflets arranged like a fern frond however this plant is more closely related to Peace Lilies (Spathiphyllum) and Swiss Cheese plant (Monstera deliciosa). Underground it creates a bulb-like tuber which helps the plant recouperate after stress but is also a reason never to allow the potting mix to be wet otherwise it will rot.
Your new ZZ Plant comes in two sizes and could grow up to approximately 1m in height.
Medium: 20cm-25cm in height. Planted in a 140mm black nursery pot.
Large: 25cm-35cm in height. Planted in a 200mm black nursery pot.
Care mode
Allow the plant to settle into its new home and it will adapt very well to neglect. Some people are known to water these plants once a month however it is best to observe your plant and water it just before it shows signs of stress. Rarely affected by any pests. Low watering and low light does not encourage active growth so if a lush specimen is desired, move the plant to brighter light, give it some fertliser and carefully increase watering. Fertilise in warmer months.
Feeding your indoor plants
To get the best out of your indoor plants, you will need to feed them some food. The Good Plant Co Indoor Plant Food will provide all the nutrients they need to grow more leaves and help them stay strong. When the plant is actively growing during the warmer months, it needs a bit more food and water. During the slow growing season (cooler winter months) your plant doesn’t eat or drink as much (no extra winter layer of fat for these babies). Sometimes it’s ok to be a helicopter parent – respond to your plant’s needs. To keep the dust off your beautiful indoor plant leaves use The Good Plant Co Leaf Shine. Moral of the story, if it is growing new leaves then it will need more water and food!
We take great care in growing, packaging, and shipping your new plants so they’re ready to thrive in your home. This includes keeping them safe while they travel from our wholesale nursery to your doorstep.
