Ficus Elastica Ruby
Ficus Elastica Ruby
I'm Ficus Ruby - the rubber tree that raided the jewellery box. My new leaves flush genuine ruby-pink over cream and emerald, and the more bright, indirect light you give me, the harder my colours hit. Fun heritage note: before Brazilian rubber trees took over, my species was tapped for actual commercial rubber in the 1800s. Gems AND industry. Multifaceted, literally.
Care stays classic rubber-tree simple: a good drink when my soil has dried out, no harsh draughts, and rotate me occasionally so every side gets its glow-up.
What you'll get (no surprises):
- Large - 200mm nursery pot, approx 30-40cm
- X-Large - 250mm nursery pot, approx 40-50cm
I arrive in my grower's nursery pot, ready for a stylish upgrade.
Pets: gems are for looking - sap irritates if chewed.
Polish the jewels with The Good Plant Co Leaf Shine and flatter my blush in a Jardin Terrazzo Pot in Pink.
🌱 One tree planted with every order.

Care mode
Water regularly leaving the top of the soil to dry out in between waterings and prefers to be homed in a bright room with some direct sunlight. Rotate the plant every week as the leaves bend towards the light and this plant looks best with an even display of leaves. Fertilise in warmer months.
Feeding your indoor plants
To keep your Ficus Ruby glowing, you’ll want to fuel those gorgeous pink and green leaves with the right nutrients. The Good Plant Co Indoor Plant Food is ideal for giving your Ruby the boost it needs to push out fresh, variegated growth and stay healthy. In the warmer months, when your Ficus Ruby is in growth mode, it will naturally need more food and water. As the cooler winter months roll in and growth slows, you can ease off a little – think lean, not overfed.
It’s perfectly fine to be a bit of a helicopter plant parent and adjust your care as it changes through the seasons. And to keep those blush, cream, and emerald leaves looking Insta-ready, use The Good Plant Co Leaf Shine to remove dust and enhance their natural sheen. The key takeaway: if your Ficus Ruby is pushing out new leaves, that’s your cue it needs extra nutrients and a little more water to power that colour-packed growth!
We take great care in growing, packaging, and shipping your new plants so they’re ready to thrive in your home. This includes keeping them safe while they travel from our wholesale nursery to your doorstep.
