Burgundy Rubber Tree
Ficus Elastica Burgundy
The plant, by the plant
By the beard of Zeus - I'm your other favourite Burgundy. Deep wine-dark leaves, glossy as a news anchor's smile, and a temperament so easy-going it's almost suspicious. Stay classy, and so will I.
Indirect light suits me fine, and I only want a proper drink once my soil has dried out. Fun heritage flex: in Northeast India, my species' roots are trained into living bridges that hold entire villages' foot traffic for generations.
What you'll get (no surprises):
- Medium - 140mm nursery pot, approx 20-30cm tall
- Large - 200mm nursery pot, approx 30-40cm tall
- X-Large - 250mm nursery pot, approx 40-50cm tall
I arrive in my grower's nursery pot, ready for a stylish upgrade.
Pets: my milky sap is an irritant - best kept from curious chewers.
Keep me glossy with The Good Plant Co Leaf Shine and let a Cooper Pot in Grey do my dark tones justice.

Care tips
Water regularly leaving the top of the soil to dry out in between waterings and prefers to be homed in a bright room with some direct sunlight. Rotate the plant every week as the leaves bend towards the light and this plant looks best with an even display of leaves. Fertilise in warmer months.
Feeding
To get the best out of your indoor plants, you will need to feed them some food. The Good Plant Co Indoor Plant Food will provide all the nutrients they need to grow more leaves and help them stay strong. When the plant is actively growing during the warmer months, it needs a bit more food and water. During the slow growing season (cooler winter months) your plant doesn’t eat or drink as much (no extra winter layer of fat for these babies). Sometimes it’s ok to be a helicopter parent – respond to your plant’s needs. To keep the dust off your beautiful indoor plant leaves use The Good Plant Co Leaf Shine. Moral of the story, if it is growing new leaves then it will need more water and food!
