Named for the lime racing stripe down every heart-shaped leaf - very Brazilian-flag, very flattering. I'm the Philodendron Brasil, and between us: I'm one of the toughest trailing plants in the business. Low light? Fine. Forgot to water? Fine. Neglect disguised as 'busy week'? Truly fine.

Put me up high and let my striped hearts cascade - I'll grow long and lush like Rapunzel with better ends. Bright, indirect light gets the boldest striping, but I won't sulk in less.

The Philodendron Brasil has distinctive heart-shaped leaves with rich green tones and a striking lime-green or golden-yellow variegation that gives each leaf a unique look. This trailing evergreen can either be left to cascade over the pot’s edges or climb up a support like a totem.

  • Medium light. Can tolerate shade.
  • Water sparingly, soil to be almost dry.
  • Not so pet friendly.
