I've been doing this since the 1800s. I'm the Parlour Palm - the original houseplant celebrity, beloved by the Victorians because I was practically the only palm that tolerated their dim, coal-smoked sitting rooms. Your apartment? Luxury accommodation by comparison.

My soft, feathery fronds bring instant calm-tropical energy, and my care remains as forgiving as ever: low to medium indirect light, water when the topsoil dries, and absolutely no fuss about the occasional missed weekend.

What you'll get (no surprises):

  • Medium - 140mm nursery pot, approx 10-20cm
  • Large - 200mm nursery pot, approx 40-60cm
  • X-Large - 250mm nursery pot - our fullest clumps

Pets: 100% pet-friendly - 150 years of family homes can't be wrong.

Fan of the look? The Bamboo Parlor Palm Trinket Dish is my official merchandise. Style me relaxed in a Recycled Woven Basket with an occasional feed of Indoor Plant Food.

🌱 One tree planted with every order.

Key attributes

A popular small ‘elegant’ indoor palm that brings the tropics into the home. Slender leaves are bright green and pinnate divided (i.e. fishbone appearance). This palm is ideal to add a little height to your indoor plant range.

  • Bright, indirect, filtered sunlight.
  • Water moderately, allow the top 3cm of soil to dry.
  • Pet friendly.

Your new Bamboo Parlor Palm comes in two sizes and could grow up to approximately 2m in height.

Medium: 10cm-20cm in height. Planted in a 140mm black nursery pot.

Large: 40cm-60cm in height. Planted in a 200mm black nursery pot.

Care mode

Generally easy to grow and care for but avoid excessive bright light as leaves will bleach. Dry air and draughts will cause leaf tips to brown. During cooler winter months, reduce watering.

Feeding your indoor plants

To get the best out of your indoor plants, you will need to feed them some food. The Good Plant Co Indoor Plant Food will provide all the nutrients they need to grow more leaves and help them stay strong. When the plant is actively growing during the warmer months, it needs a bit more food and water. During the slow growing season (cooler winter months) your plant doesn’t eat or drink as much (no extra winter layer of fat for these babies). Sometimes it’s ok to be a helicopter parent – respond to your plant’s needs. To keep the dust off your beautiful indoor plant leaves use The Good Plant Co Leaf Shine. Moral of the story, if it is growing new leaves then it will need more water and food!

We take great care in growing, packaging, and shipping your new plants so they’re ready to thrive in your home. This includes keeping them safe while they travel from our wholesale nursery to your doorstep.
