Go big or go botanical - I do both. I'm the Giant Bird of Paradise, the plant people buy when they want a tree's presence without waiting a decade. My enormous paddle leaves stack into a lush, banana-like silhouette (fitting, since I'm genuinely closer kin to bananas than to any palm - my 'trunk' is really tightly-rolled leaf bases, exactly like theirs).

From South Africa's coastal forests, I want your brightest spot - sun through a window is perfect - generous water in summer, less in winter, and headroom. My ambitions are vertical: indoors I'll take whatever your ceiling allows.

What you'll get (no surprises):

  • Large - 200mm nursery pot, approx 50cm
  • X-Large - 250mm nursery pot, approx 50-80cm

Pets: my fruit and seeds are the toxic parts - sensible caution with committed chewers.

Feed my skyward plans with Indoor Plant Food, anchor them in a Jardin Terrazzo Pot in Grey, and yes - the Giant Bird of Paradise Trinket Dish is official fan merch.

🌱 One tree planted with every order.

Feeding your indoor plants

To get the best out of your indoor plants, you will need to feed them some food. The Good Plant Co Indoor Plant Food will provide all the nutrients they need to grow more leaves and help them stay strong. When the plant is actively growing during the warmer months, it needs a bit more food and water. During the slow growing season (cooler winter months) your plant doesn’t eat or drink as much (no extra winter layer of fat for these babies). Sometimes it’s ok to be a helicopter parent – respond to your plant’s needs. To keep the dust off your beautiful indoor plant leaves use The Good Plant Co Leaf Shine. Moral of the story, if it is growing new leaves then it will need more water and food!

We take great care in growing, packaging, and shipping your new plants so they’re ready to thrive in your home. This includes keeping them safe while they travel from our wholesale nursery to your doorstep.
