Care to gamble? I'm the Philodendron Ghost - the living lottery ticket of the variegated philodendron world. Every new leaf is a spin of the wheel: mostly greens for now, but any unfurling could flash pale mint, cream… or the pink that collectors lose sleep over. You don't buy me; you subscribe to my plot twists.

My paler patches carry less chlorophyll (that's the trade-off behind all this beauty), so give me bright, indirect light - never harsh sun, which burns the fancy bits first. Water when my topsoil dries.

What you'll get (no surprises):

  • Medium - 140mm nursery pot, approx 10-20cm
  • Large - 200mm nursery pot - an established plant with more leaves in the lottery

Current stock is low-variegation - that's the honest starting point; the roulette is the fun part.

Pets: no nibbling the lottery tickets - toxic if chewed.

Baby my delicate leaves with Leaf Shine and stage the suspense in a Pierre Terrazzo Pot in White.

🌱 One tree planted with every order.

Key attributes

The Philodendron Ghost is a collector’s dream, perfect for those who can’t get enough of that gorgeous pink variegation! Its deep green, glossy leaves are beautifully accented with hints of pink, making it a stunning addition to any plant collection. While it naturally grows as a clumper, you can also train it to climb one of our totems or let it gracefully cascade over the edge of its pot for a more trailing look.

  • Bright, indirect, filtered sunlight.
  • Water moderately, allow the top 3cm of soil to dry.
  • Not so pet friendly.

Your new Ghost comes in one size and could grow up to approximately 1.2m in height.

Medium: 10cm-20cm in height. Planted in a 140mm black nursery pot.

Large: 20-40cm in height. Planted in a 180mm black nursery pot.

Please note our decorative pots are sold separately.

Care mode

Water your Philodendron Ghost sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. It thrives in a bright room with plenty of indirect light. Keep in mind, the more pink variegation a leaf has, the more sensitive it is to direct sunlight, so avoid placing it in harsh sun. During the warmer months, be sure to fertilize to support its growth and vitality.

Feeding your indoor plants

To help your Philodendron Ghost thrive, it’s important to give it the right nutrients. The Good Plant Co Indoor Plant Food provides everything your plant needs to grow strong and produce new leaves. During the warmer months, when it's actively growing, it will need more food and water to support its growth. In the cooler, slower-growing winter months, your plant won't need as much — it doesn’t store up extra energy like some plants do!

It’s okay to be a "helicopter plant parent" – responding to your plant’s needs is key. To keep its leaves looking fresh and shiny, use The Good Plant Co Leaf Shine to remove dust and keep them glossy. The bottom line: if your Philodendron Ghost is putting out new leaves, it will need more water and nutrients to keep up the good work!

We take great care in growing, packaging, and shipping your new plants so they’re ready to thrive in your home. This includes keeping them safe while they travel from our wholesale nursery to your doorstep.
