Sansevieria Mother In Law's Tongue
Dracaena trifasciata
The plant, by the plant
The wrath of the Mother-in-Law's Tongue is greatly exaggerated - I'm actually the most agreeable resident you'll ever host. Sharp of leaf, soft of temperament, and the holder of a genuine botanical superpower: I run CAM photosynthesis, meaning I open my leaf pores at night instead of by day. That night-shift breathing is why I'm the classic bedroom plant.
My sculptural, sword-shaped leaves handle low light, bright light, missed waterings and total neglect with identical composure. Water only when my soil is completely dry - in winter, that might mean monthly. I know. Luxurious.
What you'll get (no surprises):
- Medium - 140mm nursery pot
- Large - 200mm nursery pot - taller, established leaves
I arrive in my grower's nursery pot, ready for a stylish upgrade.
Pets: my tongue is sharp AND mildly toxic - best kept from chewers.
A Moisture Meter stops over-loving, and a Cooper Pot in Grey suits my architectural mood.
🌱 One tree planted with every order.

A draught tolerant indoor plant and can be left alone in the right growing conditions. Water regularly and allow soil to dry out in between waterings. Fertilise in warmer months.
Feeding
To get the best out of your indoor plants, you will need to feed them some food. The Good Plant Co Indoor Plant Food will provide all the nutrients they need to grow more leaves and help them stay strong. When the plant is actively growing during the warmer months, it needs a bit more food and water. During the slow growing season (cooler winter months) your plant doesn’t eat or drink as much (no extra winter layer of fat for these babies). Sometimes it’s ok to be a helicopter parent – respond to your plant’s needs. To keep the dust off your beautiful indoor plant leaves use The Good Plant Co Leaf Shine. Moral of the story, if it is growing new leaves then it will need more water and food!
